Produced to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the Codorníu winery, Jaume de Codorníu Gran Reserva Ars Collecta is an elegant cava gran reserva made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Xarel·lo, all coming from old vineyards.
The Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard on the northern side of the Prades mountain range, in Conca de Barberà. The Chardonnay is grown in a plot with slate soils situated in the coolest area of DO Cava. The Xarel·lo is sourced from a vineyard in Alt Penedès with deep gravel and calcareous soils.
The hand-harvested grapes were destemmed and gently pressed before being fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. After blending the base wines, the cava Jaume de Codorníu Gran Reserva Ars Collecta 2018 completed secondary fermentation in the bottle and was aged on lees for 40+ months.
All the bottles of this cava brut from Penedès are numbered.
