Product Description

Produced by the Jaume de Puntiró winery, this Spanish red wine from DO Binissalem-Mallorca is made from two indigenous varieties: Callet and Mantonegro.

A single-vineyard wine, Jaume de Puntiró Vermell comes from vines farmed following the principles of organic agriculture.

Traditionally vinified, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 6 months in American oak barrels.

After that, Jaume de Puntiró Vermell 2020 was kept for some months in the cellar to further round it and mellow it.

This blended red wine from Mallorca offers an excellent chance to get to know some interesting Majorcan grape varieties.

Additional Information

The organic red wine Jaume de Puntiró Vermell is medium ruby with some violet tinges and a garnet rim.

This blend of Mantonegro and Callet is characteristic and expressive. Fresh notes of ripe red berries, alongside aromas of freshly cut grass, laurel, flowers and liquorice.

Smooth and fresh, this organic red wine from the Jaume de Puntiró winery has a good balance and a great acidity. Pristine notes of red fruit, combined with remembrances of flowers, black olives and citrus. Long finish.

Our personal opinion Mild and pleasant, Jaume de Puntiró Vermell 2020 is a lovely example of a wine made solely from native Majorcan grapes.

Had this in Palma de Mallorca and was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of some Italian wines.
