Red Wine Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre 2018
Availability: In stock
The wine Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre was named after the French port from which the Spaniard Ceferino Carrión, later known as Jean Leon, left Europe as a stowaway on a cargo ship to pursue the American Dream.
This excellent Spanish red wine celebrates to the success of that adventure. A success that allowed Mr. Carrión, many years later, to found his own wine producing company.
A trypical Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this organic red wine from Penedès is made from grapevines planted in 1968 in a Finca Le Havre, a 16-hectare estate composed of clay-limestone soils.
The harvest of this Vino de Finca (single vineyard wine) was done by hand. After a meticulous selection, the grapes were destemmed and then this red wine from Penedès was fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Jean Leon Le Havre 2018 went through malolactic fermentation in French and American oak barrels, where it was subsequently aged for 12 months.
Finally, this reserva red wine was aged for 24 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
32,800 bottles produced.

Nose | Classy and confident, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc has a deep spicy background. As the wine aerates, aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants appear, combined with some toasted nuances and suggestions of raisins, roasted green bell pepper, menthol and coffee. |
Palate | Showing a bridled power, this wine from Jean Leon is bold and precise, with smooth tannins, a great definition and a crisp acidity. Moroccan leather, ripe red fruit, Eastern spices, some herbal and mineral nuances, and some intimations of smoke and toast. Long, elegant finish. |
Our personal opinion | Classy and deep, Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is the perfect match to hearty game dishes. |
