This is the new vintage of Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata Magnum. An excellent Spanish red wine produced by the Juan Gil winery.
A varietal Monastrell, Juan Gil 12 Meses is made from grapevines over 50 years old, located between 700 and 850 metres of altitude in the southeastern Spanish region of Jumilla. They are planted in soils composed of sand and limestone, and have very low levels of organic matter.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks for a period of 20 to 25 days. After that, this Monastrell from Jumilla completed malolactic fermentation and a 12-month ageing period in French oak barrels.
We strongly suggest that you decant Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata 2018 Magnum 30 minutes before you drink it.
The red wine Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata Magnum has a deep cherry colour with a violet rim.
Intense and seductive, this varietal Monastrell begins with some spicy and creamy notes, slowly evolving into intense aromas of ripe black fruit, cocoa, and tobacco. The wine has a nicely balsamic background, with hints of Mediterranean garrigue.
Tight, bold and meaty, this red wine of Bodega Juan Gil has a silky body and an expansive character. Creamy notions of spices and red fruit, alongside remembrances of smoke, blue flowers and dry earth. Lively tannins, very good acidity and long, complex finish.
