Product Description
Details

Produced by Bodega Altolandón in the DO Manchuela, L’Ame de Altolandón Malbec is a varietal Malbec made from organically farmed vines grown in rocky soils at 1,100 metres above sea level. The vineyards are located the town of Ladete, halfway between the provinces of Valencia, Cuenca and Teruel.

After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were first macerated for 2 weeks. After that, this Spanish red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

Once transferred into French oak barrels, L’Ame de Altolandón Malbec 2012 was aged for 12 months before bottling.

Elegant and powerful, this organic Crianza red wine should be aerated some time before drinking.

Pair with roasted meat dishes.

Appearance

The red wine L’Ame de Altolandón Malbec is purple with a violet rim.

Nose

Deep aromas of cherries and cranberries, with some herbal and meaty remembrances, alongside some toasted and smoky notes. This is a textbook Malbec.

Palate

This wine of Bodega Altolandón has lots of inner energy and a nice tension. Fruit is ripe and succulent, with a crisp acidity and some lively tannins. Very long finish with some smokey, spicey and meaty remembrances.

Our personal opinion

The lovers of Argentinian Malbecs should definitely try L’Ame de Altolandón Malbec 2012.
