Product Description

Produced in DOQ Priorat, L’Exclamació is a very interesting Spanish red wine from the young bodega Clos 93.

Indeed, this red wine from Priorat is one of the very few varietal Syrah wines produced in Catalonia's most prestigious wine region.

Sourced from estate-owned vineyards with llicorella (slate) soils situated at 250 metres of altitude, the grapes were hand-harvested and meticulously selected.

They were fermented whole bunch in stainless steel tanks, after which this Crianza red wine was transferred into French oak barrels and aged for 14 to 16 months.

Finally, L'Exclamació 2019 was filtered before its bottling.

Aerate this varietal Syrah wine at least 40 minutes before drinking.

This truly is one of those almost-impossible-to-find wines. Only 800 bottles produced!

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine L’Exclamació is deep ruby with a purplish rim.

This varietal Syrah is reminiscent of a great Cornas from northern Rhône, but with a deeper and earthier twist. Aromas of blackberries, cassis and violets, with sprays of spices and warm stones and notes of coffee, cacao and black olives.

This wine from bodega Clos 93 is luxurious, full-bodied and exhilarating. Rich and ripe black fruit, with notes of smoke and liquorice and deep mineral undertones. There is a solid tannic frame, with the steely acidity which distinguishes Priorat red wines. Very long finish with some floral and spicy notes.

Our personal opinion

The lovers of northern Rhône wines should definitely try L’Exclamació 2019. They will not be disappointed.

Priorat meets Hermitage
Interesting Priorat in that it is a single varietal Syrah. Picture a bold, earthy Hermitage with a rugged demeanor and you'll get the idea.
