Product Description

Crafted by Scotsman Norrel Robertson MW, also known as El Escocés Volante, in collaboration with Cooperativa San Gregorio, La Multa Old Vine Garnacha is one of Spain's best values.

Made mostly from Grenache, complemented by a touch of Tempranillo and Bobal, this Crianza red wine is made from old vines over 45 years of age located in the northern Spanish region of Calatayud.

The vines are perched at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level, ant they grow in extremely poor, clay-limestone soils. Climate is harsh. The addition of these factors results in wonderfully expressive grapes.

Harvest was carried out manually. Once in the cellar, the grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented in concrete tanks with daily pump-overs.

After that, La Multa Old Vine Garnacha 2015, from Calatayud, was aged on its lees for 18 months in underground concrete vats and cold-stabilized.

Drink until 2021.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine La Multa Old Vine Garnacha has a very bright, clean, medium-low red-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Intense notes of red fruit, along with some remembrances of liquor bonbons, aromatic herbs, dry earth and balsam. This old-vines Grenache by Norrel Robertson also find some spicy nuances and notions of strawberry candies.

Fresh and pleasant, this red wine by El Escocés Volante suggests notes of red fruit, spices and balsam. This red wine from Calatayud is linear and slightly bitter, with a refreshing acidity, bold tannins and a long finish with clear remembrances of red fruit.

Our personal opinion

Fresh, yummy and nuanced, La Multa Old Vine Garnacha 2015 judiciously combines Grenache, Bobal & Tempranillo. It is an exceptional value for money.
