Red Wine Labros 2018
Availability: In stock
Made from organically grown vines over 70 years old, this Spanish red wine comes from Viña de Lloros, a less than 1 hectare vineyard with granitic soils located at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level, in an area covered by DO Vinos de Madrid.
After a careful selection, the undestemmed grapes were cold-soaked prior to being crushed in order to extract colour and aromas. Then, this Spanish red wine was fermented in 500-litre oak barrels using indigenous yeasts.
Finally, Labros 2018 was aged in those same barrels for 12 months. Prior to bottling, the wine was neither filtered nor clarified.
Production of this Crianza red wine is very limited.
Decant this Garnacha de Gredos 1 hour before drinking.
The red wine Labros is medium ruby with a reddish rim.
This old-vines Grenache from Madrid is deep, intringuing and characteristic. Subtle, nuanced aromas of ripe red fruit, flowers and underbrush, a dash of rosy pepper and some earthy and mineral hints, as well as tips of liquorice, balsam, cinnamon and vanilla.
This wine from Bodega Marañones is delicately textured, medium-bodied and exquisitely crafted. Suggestions of red fruit, red flowers and aromatic herbs, an overall sense of fresh, open air, some gentle tannins and a well-balanced acidity. Medium, fruity finish with some earthy and mineral remembrances .
|Our personal opinion||
The enticing Labros 2018 is a scarce old-vines Grenache of great elegance and freshness.
