Details
In the southwestern Catalan region of Terra Alta, the name "fou" designates a ravine, a landform frequently occurring in the region.
Produced by Celler La Fou, Lafou Els Amelers is made solely from a grape variety which is also highly characteristic of the area, namely White Grenache.
Coming from old vines harvested quite ripe, and from young grapevines harvested early, the grapes were first cold-soaked for 4 days.
After that, they were gently crushed, and then 90% of the resulting wine must was fermented in stainless steel tanks and concrete eggs, where they also remained on its lees for a period of 6 months. The remaining 10% of this Spanish white wine was aged in light-toasted, 300-litre French oak barrels for 6 months as well.
Finally, La Fou Els Amelers 2021 was clarified and cold-stabilized prior to bottling.

| Our personal opinion | Over the last years, Lafou Els Amelers 2021 has established itself as one of the best White Grenache wines produced in Catalonia. It deserves to be better known. |

One of the best garnacha blanc from Terra Alta I've tasted. Needs 2-3 years to fully develop.

Terra Alta!!
I'm in love with White Grenache. This La Fou white is delicately textured, subtle, with a nimble palate. Grassy, with stone fruit and white flowers. Terrific!!
