Details

Produced in Priorat,  Les Brugueres is a remarkably original Spanish white wine made in a land famed for its bold red wines.

A single varietal White Grenache, it is made from grapes grown in a single plot.

The La Creueta estate comprises 3 hectares of vineyards that were planted in 1980 in the slate (llicorella) soils which are characteristic of the region.

After the harvest, the grapes were cold macerated for 3-4 days prior to fermentation, which took place in stainless steel tanks.

Then this wine produced by the Conreria de Scala Dei was aged for 5 months on its lees.

Finally, Les Brugueres 2018 was clarified before its bottling.

Decant this White Grenache from Priorat 30 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

The white wine Les Brugueres has a very bright, clean straw yellow colour with some golden tinges.

Nose

Elegant notes of white flowers, aniseed, white pepper, pineapple, and bone fruit over a fresh, rich mineral background, typical of a White Grenache from Priorat.

Palate

Nicelly crafted by Conreria d'Scala Dei, the wine is creamy and savoury, with a great balance and a remarkable acidity. Dry fruit, white fruit, spices, citrus, some mineral remembrances and a floral touch. Long, fruity finish.

Our personal opinion

Original and well-crafted, Les Brugueres 2018 pairs excellently with cured cheeses, white meat and hearty fish dishes.

My staple Priorat white. The combination of fruit and slate I find simply intoxicating.

This is a superb white wine from a place famous for red wines. Sleek, well-structured, very gentle on the palate, with fruit, a creamy touch and some earthy sensations. Top white!!
