Product Description
Details

This delightful Spanish red wine is made from a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 10% Syrah.

The red wine Les Crestes from Priorat is made from grapes 20 to 100 years of age. It is produced by the Mas Doix winery, one of Priorat's most prestigious companies, the vineyards are planted in terraces and slopes composed of black slate.

As for the 2018 vintage, it was one of the earliest in recent Priorat history.

After a manual harvest, the grapes were selected twice and separately vinified according to each variety and each plot.

Alcoholic fermentation was carried out with periodic punch-downs. Then this red wine from Priorat was drawn-off and aged for 8 months in 2nd year French oak barrels. The wine was not filtered or clarified before its bottling.

Decant Les Crestes 2018 30 minutes before drinking.

45,000 bottles produced.

Appearance

The red wine Les Crestes has an intense red cherry colour with a violet rim.

Nose

This red wine of the Mas Doix winery has the fruit on the forefront. And a nice fruit it is. Liquor-infused blackberries, cranberries, intense aromas of menthol and Mediterranean herbs, some liquorice and a remarkable mineral background.

Palate

The wine Les Crestes from Priorat is taut and fresh. Meaty, savoury fruit, dim spicy nuances, deep balsamic and mineral notes, yummy tannins, still a bit young, and a long, zesty finish.

Our personal opinion

Fresher and livelier than ever, Les Crestes 2018 expresses the region's gentlest side.
