After a meticulous vinification process in stainless steel tanks, Les Sorts Sycar 2018 black label was aged for 13 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels. Before its bottling, the wine was gently filtered, but not clarified.
Aerate this Crianza red wine from Montsant of 1 hour before drinking.
The wine Les Sorts Sycar shows an intense cherry colour with garnet tinges and a purple rim.
As expected, this blend of Carignan and Syrah results in a complex, intense aromatic expression. Smokey notes, nutty aromas and some ripe, jammy black fruit. In the background there are hints of aromatic herbs and a sharp, mineral undertone.
Smooth and fleshy, this red wine of Celler Masroig is medium to full-bodied and displays hints of dark fruit, some toasted and balsamic notes, hints of Mediterranean garrigue and some sweet, round tannins. Acidity is nothing short of impeccable, as is usually the case with Montsant red wines. Long finish, with spicy oak notes and a pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
