It was in 2009 when Granja Ntra. Sra de Remelluri decided to produce two different wines from the plots bordering the winery. One is Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida, and the other is Remelluri Viñedos de San Vicente.
A blend of Tempranillo and Grenache, this Spanish red wine is crafted from old grapevines scattered across several tiny plots. They are owned and traditionally farmed by local wine growers from La Rioja, with whom the winery has been working in close collaboration for many years.
Maceration and both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations took place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja Alavesa was aged for 12 months in 5,000 French oak vats and 225-litre French oak barrels. After that, it was aged for a minimum of 24 months in the bottle.
While honouring the noble tradition of locally produced village wine, Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de San Vicente 2016 takes it to another level.
We suggest that you aerate this small-production Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking it.
The wine Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos San Vicente has a bright, medium-high cherry coloured robe with a garnet rim.
This Crianza red wine from Remelluri has an intense, pleasant nose full of raspberries and ripe cranberries, combined with notes of clove, cinnamon, liquorice and toast over a balsamic and herbal background.
Mild, seductive and smooth, this Rioja red wine carries loads of ripe red fruit, enlivened by some juicy tannins and a crisp acidity. There are dim suggestions of spices, mineral and forest-floor. Finish is medium-long, with some smokey and floral remembrances.

Immensely enjoyable, Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de San Vicente 2016 is an honest, very pure Rioja.
