Product Description

Born in Gratallops, in the heart of Priorat, Lo Petit de la Casa is a Spanish red wine produced by the Trossos del Priorat winery

Made principally from Grenache, this Crianza red wine is complemented with some Cabernet Sauvignon. Both varieties grow in the decomposed slate, llicorella soils that bring the wines from Priorat their distinctive minerality.

Harvested by hand, the grapes were destemmed and cold-soaked in order to extract aromas and colour from the grape skins.

After that, the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Transferred into 225-litre French oak barrels, this red wine from Priorat completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months.

Finally, Lo Petit de la Casa 2017 was bottled and aged for 10 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The wine Lo Petit de la Casa has a medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.

Beginning with some toasted and spicy notes, this red wine from Priorat segues into aromatic herbs, aromas of black and red fruit and deep mineral suggestions. A nicely balanced blend of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the palate, this wine by Trossos del Priorat shows a mineral character that balances the notes of red and black fruit with a refreshing quality. Somes hints of spices and Mediterranean garrigue, with a crisp acidity, and a long, persistent finish.

de la casa
A young, reasonably-priced Priorat which nevertheless remains true to its terroir. Quite good!!
