Product Description

While possessing a trademark Priorat character, Marco Abella Loidana has always been a wonderfully drinkable wine. Thus, this Spanish red wine combines the best of two worlds.

Produced by the Marco Abella winery, the wine is made from a blend of biodynamically farmed grapes of Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon coming from the youngest vines of the winery.

Harvested by hand, the grapes were separately vinified according to their variety and plot of origin.

Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels, in which the wine was aged for 11 months.

After that, Loidana 2018 was blended and aged for a few months in the cellar prior to its release.

Aerate this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before you drink it.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The Spanish red wine Loidana has a bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with some garnet and ruby tinges.

Fresh balsamic notes, combined with clear notes of fruit, sweet spices, flowers and undergrowth over a mineral background. This red wine from Priorat has a well defined, seductive nose.

Fresh and gentle, with focus and a velvety texture. Juicy notes of fruit, some creamy and toasted nuances, a dash of liquorice and remembrances of bitter herbs and mineral. Well-balanced, with excellent acidity and savorury tannins. Long, slightly bitter, refreshing finish. This Crianza red wine from Marco Abella really delivers for the money.

Our personal opinion Simply put, Loidana 2018 is one of the best introductions to Priorat available on the market.

Very good, but not as fine-tuned as some previous vintages. This is why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Entry-level wine of the winery. They used to release it after two o three years, but now they put it on the market 1 or 2 years after the vintage at best. Anyway, it is still a very good wine, one of the best if you want to get acquainted with Priorat.
