Product Description

Produced by Bodega Losada Vinos de Finca, the 2017 vintage of Losada comes with an interesting novelty. This time, the Mencía variety, the main ingredient of this Spanish red wine, is complemented with small amounts of the Doña Blanca, a white variety, and with a portion of other red varieties.

The 40 to 80-year-old vines were harvested by hand and carefully selected. Destemmed and gently crushed, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks.

After the completion of malolactic fermentation, this red wine from El Bierzo was aged for 10 months in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year French oak barrels. Finally, it was clarified with vegetable gelatin and bottled unfiltered.

Drink Losada 2017 from now to 2023.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Losada has a medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.

Fresh notes of ripe black fruit define this Mencía from El Bierzo. Pleasantly rugged, with hints of spices and toast, aromas of blue flowers, and some delicate lactic touches.

Lively notes of bramble and damson, that slowly evolve into notions of toast, smoked meat, orange rind and dry earth. This red wine by Bodega Losada Vinos de Finca has a zesty acidity, crunchy tannins, and a long finish with some toasted remembrances.

Crunchy, yummy Mencía. I smell fresh blood oranges, cranberries and earth. A great wine with meat recipes.
