White Wine Louro 2019
Availability: In stock
Produced by Rafael Palacios, member of a long and distinguished Spanish wine dinasty, Louro is made almost entirely from Godello grapes, complemented with a pinch of Treixadura.
This Spanish white wine is made from estate-owned vineyards 20 to 40 years of age. They are located at altitudes around 670 metres, in the dramatic landscape of the Bibei Valley, at the heart of the DO Valdeorras.
The vines grow in soils with very low levels of organic matter and composed mainly of decomposed granite.
Once in the cellar, Louro 2019 was fermented in round wooden vats made from French oak and aged on its lees for 4 months.
Made from one of Spain's most promising white grapes, this white wine from Valdeorras has plenty of character.
Appearance | The white wine Louro has a bright, clean straw-yellow colour with waxen tinges. |

Nose | This white wine from Valdeorras has an intriguing nose, a combination of white fruit, white flowers, creamy notes and subtle touches of rosemary honey. This blend of Godello and Treixadura suggests some hints of bitter herbs and a great saline touch that bears witness to the wine's great terroir. |
Palate | Not your ordinary white, that's for sure. Complexity reaches a respectable level here. On the palate, this white wine by Rafael Palacios is defined by a saline minerality, notions of herbs and smoke, and hints of white flowers and fruit. Rock-solid acidity, considerable volume and long, fruity finish. |
Our personal opinion | Elegant, complex and deeper than previous vintages, Louro 2019 pairs wonderfully with seafood. |
