It is made from trellis-trained vines over 25 years of age located at "Pazo Piñeiro", an estate composed of highly acidic, deep soils made of decomposed granite with very low levels of organic matter.
Manually harvested and rapidly brought to the cellar to avoid undesired pre-fermentation, the grapes of this white wine from Rías Baixas were destemmed and macerated uncrushed for 6 hours.
After that, they were pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. Finally, this varietal Albariño was aged for 6 months on its lees.
Drink Lusco 2017 until 2023.
The wine Lusco has a very bright, clean, pale yellow colour with golden tinges and greenish glints.
Strong aromas of ripe white fruit, alongisde some white flowers, citrus and tropical fruit, one of Albariño's trademarks. There is also a noticeable herbal background, with remembrances of menthol and fennel.
Fresh and gulpable, this Galician white wine is reminiscent of lemon, passion fruit and herbs, enlivened by a flinty remembrance. This wine by Pazos de Lusco has a refreshing acidity and a medium finish with an aftertaste of white fruit and herbs.
|Our personal opinion||
Perfect for a laid-back evening, Lusco 2017 from Rías Baixas also pairs wonderfully with appetizers and Japanese food.
