Product Description

A varietal Tempranillo, Malleolus is one of the most appreciated Spanish red wines from bodega Emilio Moro, a household name in DO Ribera del Duero.

It is made from estate-owned vineyards 25 to 75 years of age, located in Pesquera de Duero.

As for the 2020 vintage, it was an "Excellent" one according to the DO Ribera del Duero regulatory board. When harvest time arrived, the grapes were fully ripen and in excellent sanitary condition.

Traditionally vinified, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was first macerated for 18 days in stainless steel tanks, after which it went through both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations.

After that, Malleollus 2020 was transferred into French oak barrels and aged for a period of 18 months.

An impeccable Crianza red wine, it is advisable to decant it 1 hour before drinking.

Pair with meat recipes.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Malleolus is medium purple with a ruby rim.

Oak is quite noticeable, but it does not suffocate the wine. We encounter typical Tempranillo aromas of forest berries and tree bark, with a pinch of herbs, a hint of clove, cardamom and cinnamon, and a deep mineral note.

This wine from bodega Emilio Moro is lively, lush and very fresh. Mulberries and damson, with notes of forest floor and some earthy remembrances. Slightly rugged tannins, nice acidity and a long finish with some toasted and balsamic hints. Classic Ribera at its best.

great Ribera
Really good Ribera. Despite spending 18 months in barrels the wine does not feel oaky, but fresh and lively.
