This refined Spanish white wine is produced by the highly talented, but still not so well-known Galician winemaker Eduardo Peña.
From his 7 hectares of vineyards planted with indigenous varieties on the banks of the Miño river, within the DO Ribeiro, he selected a blend of 50% Treixadura, 25% Loureira and 25% Albariño to produce María Andrea.
After a careful selection of the grapes, they were separately cold-macerated with carbonic snow. Then, the white wine María Andrea 2019 fermented with its lees in stainless steel tanks.
Finally, this white wine from Galicia was aged on its lees for some weeks before bottling.
The white wine María Andrea is medium yellow with some greenish tinges.
This blend of Treixadura, Loureira and Albariño suggests some intense notes of laurel and rosemary, alongside aromas of jasmine, yellow and white fruit, and a hint of marzipan and fennel.
Unctuous and savoury, this Galician white wine has an unexpected, deep mineral core, nuanced by suggestions of aromatic herbs, lime and white flowers. This white wine of Bodega Eduardo Peña has a crisp acidity and a long, complex finish.
