Product Description

Produced following the old Montsant winemaking traditions, the varietal Carignan Maria Ganxa is produced from vines planted in clayey soils.

After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were brought to the facilities of Celler Pascona, where they were selected, destemmed and gently pressed.

Then this Spanish red wine was fermented in 5,000-litre truncated cone-shaped stainless steel deposits, with frequent pump-overs and punch-downs.

Finally, Maria Ganxa 2020 underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for about 3 months on its lees.

This a fresh and versatile red wine from Montsant.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Maria Ganxa de Pascona has a clean, medium-low cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

This varietal unoaked Carignan is fruity and inviting. Aromas of red and black fruit, some subtle floral nuances, and some hints of wet earth, flowers and spices.

This young red wine from Celler Pascona has the liveliness typical of Carignan. Cocoa, boysenberries, blue flowers and some mineral remembrances. Round and juicy, with a good acidity and a long finish.

Our personal opinion

Fresh and savoury, Maria Ganxa de Pascona 2020 is an excellent value.

It seems that carinena is becoming sort of hype. Well, judging by this wine I understand why. No oak, very precise, rock solid, super fresh.
