Produced by the prestigious Rioja winery Marqués de Riscal, Marqués de Riscal Limousin is a varietal Verdejo Spanish white wine from the DO Rueda. It is made from old bush vines planted on terraces overlooking the Duero river.
The Verdejo grapes were picked up by hand. Once in the cellar, they were pressed whole bunch to preserve the colour and aromas of the variety, and also to protect the wine must from oxidation. Gently clarified, the must was fermented in 600-litre oak barrels from Allier, Nevers and Vosges. During the process, the lees were stirred twice a week to enhance the creaminess and roundness of this Rueda white wine.
The wine Marqués de Riscal Limousin 2018 is a varietal Verdejo with a Burgundian spirit.
