White Wine Marqués de Riscal Limousin 2020

It is made from Verdejo grapes sourced from old bushvines planted on terraces overlooking the Duero river.
The grapes were harvested by hand. Once in the cellar, they were pressed whole bunch to preserve the colour and aromas of the variety, and also to protect the wine must from oxidation.
After gently clarifying the wine must, Marqués de Riscal Limousin 2020 was fermented in 600-litre oak barrels from Allier, Nevers and Vosges. Then the wine was aged for 8 months. During the process, the lees were stirred twice a week to obtain a creamier and rounder wine.
Pair this white wine aged in oak with rice and white meat dishes and risottos.
The white wine Marqués de Riscal Limousin is medium straw with some grey tinges.
With a medium-high aromatic intensity, this Verdejo combines a precise varietal character -white fruit, bitter herbs, fennel, hay- with a judicious oak ageing that highlights its qualities, adding some delicate notes of toast, vanilla and spices.
This wine from bodega Marqués de Riscal is well-defined, gently unctuous and nicely textured. Very fresh, with remembrances of lime, green coffee, spices and bitter herbs. Long finish.

The white wine Marqués de Riscal Limousin 2020 is the most Burgundian of all Verdejos from Rueda.
