This is the new vintage of Mauro -crafted, as always, by the respected winemaker Mariano García.
Selected in the vineyard and in the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and separately vinified according to the variety and plot of origin. Alcoholic fermentation took place in big stainless steel tanks and was followed by a 2 to 3 week skin maceration.
Then it was transferred into French oak barrels and French oak vats, where it was aged for 15 months.
This red wine from Castilla y León produced by Bodegas Mauro was was bottled in May 2020, and aged for a further 2 months in the cellar prior to its release.
We suggest that you decant Mauro 2018 1 hour before you drink it.
If properly stored, this remarkable red wine from Valladolid will considerably improve over the next years.
The red wine Mauro has a high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
Superbly elegant, this great Crianza red wine from Castilla y León smells of fresh red berries and black fruit, nuanced by some balsamic and spicy notes. There is a deep terroir imprint, with hints of wet earth, undergrowth, moss and black truffles. Classy and complex.
This excellent Tempranillo red wine from Bodegas Mauro is savoury, bold and information-rich. Ripe fruit, toast, liquorice, underbush, mineral, a dash of blue flowers, some mineral undertones and a real sense of terroir. Exceptional acidity, powerful tannins and very long finish.

A modern classic from Castilla y León, Mauro 2018 is more pleasurable than ever. Once again, Mariano García has done a great job.
