Product Description

Produced by Mariano García, the excellent Mauro VS from Castilla y León is a single varietal Tempranillo made from vines planted in two estates, Traspinedo and El Rosal, both located near Tudela de Duero.

Harvested the 3rd week of September, the grapes were selected on site and on arriving at the cellar. Then this Spanish red wine from Bodegas Mauro was fermented and macerated with indigenous yeasts, separating the grapes according to its plot of origin.

After that, this organic red wine from Castilla y León was aged in new and used French oak barrels for 26 months.

Bottled in January 2019, if properly stored Mauro VS 2016 will improve in your home cellar for quite a few years.

The red wine Mauro VS Vendimia Seleccionada has a bright, clean, high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.


Deeply mineral, intriguing, ever-evolving, Vendimia Seleccionada de Mauro carries deep aromas of red fruit, with hints of cocoa, Havanna cigars, pepper, moka... This Tempranillo also smells of underbrush and balsam, enlivened by a splash of liquorice.


Imposing and powerful at first, the palate of Vendimia Seleccionada of Mauro soon dispels any suspicion of being overblown. There is elegance and intrincacy here, though this wine from Mariano García needs some time to show it. Succulent fruit, in harmony with wood, with hints of aromatic herbs, and a mineral tip. Mauro VS has a lively acidity, some yummy tannins and an exceptionally long finish.

Deep, age-worthy and intense Mauro VS 2016 is a magnificent organic red wine.
