Cava Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2014
Availability: In stock
Made from blend of the three traditional varieties, Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada, almost half of the grapes come from estate-owned vineyards over 50 years of age, while the rest come from 15-year-old vines.
Vinified following the traditional method, secondary fermentation took place in the bottle. After that, this Spanish sparkling wine was aged for a period of 45 months.
Being a Brut Nature, no sugar was added to Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2014 after the disgorgement.
As with all of Cavas produced by the Mestres winery, the disgorging date is printed on the back label.
The Cava Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva has a pale yellow colour with some greenish tinges.
Elegant, understated, this Gran Reserva Brut Nature suggests aromas of white fruit, citrus and aniseed, underpinned by notions of green apples and toasted hazelnuts.
Displaying a remarkable finesse, this complex Cava from Mestres is fresh and unctuous. Toast, French patisserie, Mediterranean garrigue, some earthy and smokey remembrances and a deliciously bitter touch. Nice acidity, tiny bubbles, and long finish with remembrances of dry fruit and balsam.
|Our personal opinion||
An exceptional value, Mestres Coquet Gran Reserva 2014 is perfect to accompany a whole meal.
