Produced the Costers del Siurana winery, also known as Clos de l'Obac, Miserere is a high-end Spanish red wine made from a meticulously crafted blend consisting mainly of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Ull de Llebre, complemented with lesser amounts of Merlot and Carignan,
The grapes are sorted from vines planted along the margins of the Siurana river, in the typical slates which characterize the Priorat region.
Once in the cellar, the grapes were first destemmed, and then macerated with the skins in stainless steel tanks for a months. Then this Crianza red wine from Priorat was transferred into new French oak barrels, where it was aged for 11 months. Before its bottling, Miserere 2010 was fined with egg whites.
We suggest that you decant this wine of Priorat pioneer Carles Pastrana a minimum of 40 minutes before drinking.
The wine Miserere is medium purple with a garnet rim.
Intense, deep, spellbinding. Smoothed by the years, this blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Ull de Llebre and Merlot shows an almost perfect balance between fruit, oak and terroir. Ever-evolving and engaging, with an deep mineral core.
Powerful and mature, this wine of Costers del Siurana takes us back to good old Priorat. Spicy and earthy, the wine has focus and a remarkable complexity. Fruit remains in the background. Finish is immensely long, leaving a profound mineral note.
