Product Description

Crafted by the Celler Molí dels Capellans winery, this Spanish red wine is solely made from the indigenous grape Trepat.

Produced in the wonderful monastic region of Conca de Barberà, in southern Catalonia, Molí dels Capellans Trepat comes from low-yielding vineyards located at altitudes between 450 and 550 metres above sea level, located in the towns of Pira and Solivella.

The grapes were harvested during hours of low light to prevent pre-fermentation. They underwent a double selection process, one at the vineyards and another at the winery before being destemmed.

Once in the cellar, the grapes were gently pressed and cold-macerated. The fermentation process was then carried out at a low temperature. Afterwards, this red wine from Conca de Barberà was aged for 6 months in French oak barrels. This wine was then bottled and aged for an additional 6 months before it left the winery.

The red wine Molí dels Capellans has a bright, clean cherry red-coloured body with some steely glints.


Very characteristic, with the unmistakable personality of the Trepat variety, indigenous to Conca de Barberà. Aromas of red fruit jams, a distinctive hint of white pepper, and remembrances of flowers, vegetables, dry earth and an elegant minerality.


With a pleasant passage through the palate, this red wine by Molí dels Capellans has a superb texture, weightless and substantial, with expressive notes of red fruit, sweet spices, blue flowers and some and earthy notes. Light and linear, with a distinctive personality. The finish is well-balanced with fresh acidity and well-integrated oak.

Our personal opinion

An elegant, luminous wine, a sort of Mediterranean Pinot Noir with a spicy twist, Molí dels Capellans Trepat 2017 pairs very well with fish dishes and white meats.
