Red Wine Monasterio de las Viñas Gran Reserva 2012
Availability: In stock
This is the new vintage of Monasterio de las Viñas Gran Reserva, produced by the Grandes Vinos y Viñedos winery in the DO Cariñena, Aragón. It is made form grapevines with ages between 40 and 50 years old, located in Sierra de Aguarón, between 500 and 800 meters above sea level.
Made from Grenache, Tempranillo and Carignan, the grapes used to produced this Spanish red wine were harvested by hand at the early hours of dawn to prevent them from naturally fermenting in the sun before they reach the winery. Separately vinified, each variety was gently destemmed, gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 15 days while remaining in contact with their lees.
After fermentation, Monasterio de las Viñas Gran Reserva 2012 was aged for 24 months in the following manner. The Tempranillo and Cariñena wines were aged in French oak barrels, while the Grenache wine was aged in American oak barrels. Finally, the best quality barrels were blended. After that, the wine was aged for 36 months in the bottle.
Aerate 20 minutes before drinking.
