Details

Located in the province of Segovia, the Avelino Vegas winery produces Montespina Verdejo from the approximately 400 hectares of Verdejo vineyards owned by the company, one-fourth of which are almost 100 years of age.

Carefully harvested, the grapes of this young Spanish white wine from the DO Rueda were first destemmed and cold-soaked.

Gently crushed, this white wine from Rueda was fermented for over a period of 3 to 4 weeks in stainless steel tanks.

Finally, Montespina Verdejo 2018 was left in contact with its lees for a short period of time to increase its volume and creaminess.

Appearance

The white wine Montespina Verdejo has a pale straw yellow colour with some greenish glints.

Nose

This varietal Verdejo from Rueda is full of freshly cut hay, fennel, aniseed and tropical fruit.

Palate

Fresh and lively, this young white wine from the Avelino Vegas winery has a velvety body and a fruity character. Well defined vegetal notions, combined with remembrances of bitter herbs and exotic fruit. Good acidity and medium slightly bitter finish.
