Details

The well-known Spanish white wine from La Rioja Muga Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is made principally from Viura (90%), complemented with Malvasía & White Grenache.

The grapes come from estate-owned vineyards with soils composed mainly of clay and limestone.

Crafted by Bodegas Muga, after a meticulous harvest the fruit was macerated for a period of 8 hours. Then Muga Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2019 was fermented in new French oak barrels.

Finally, this white wine from La Rioja was aged on its lees in those same barrels for a period of 3 months prior to its bottling.

Rioja is the no-bullshit of the wine world. Always right. Always on the spot. That works also for white Rioja.

Very good Rioja white. Solid structure, no flabbiness, silky palate, very good fruit and long finish. It will grow in the bottle.
