Red Wine Nietro 2016
Availability: In stock
Belonging to the province of Aragón, the region has gained in popularity over the last years, as it possesses a real treasure in the form of venerable, old-vines Grenache.
Produced by the Alianza de Garapiteros winery, this Spanish red wine is made from low-yielding vines grown at an altitude of 950 metres above sea level under harsh climatic conditions.
Harvested by hand and selected twice, the grapes were brought to the cellar, fermented and macerated for over a period of 10 days.
After that, this red wine from Calatayud was transferred into French oak barrels, where it was aged for 6 months on its lees with periodic pump-overs and punch-downs.
Finally, Nietro 2016 was filtered prior to its bottling.
Drink now to 2021.
The red wine Nietro has an intense, bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with some violet tinges and a ruby rim.
First thing we perceive in this old-vines Grenache from Calatayud are some enticing aromas of cocoa, that slowly evolve into remembrances of cherries, strawberries and blackcurrants. On the background, notes of toast, smoke, undergrowth and balsam. Remarkable aromatic balance.
Smooth and savoury. Fresh fruit, toffee, cocoa, liquor bonbons and garrigue. This red wine by Alianza de Garapiteros has a crisp, refreshing acidity, lively tannins and long, delicious finish.
