The varietal Godello O Luar do Sil Godello is produced by O Luar do Sil, the new wine project in the DO Valdeorras of the Rodero Villa family, owners of the well-known Pago de los Capellanes winery in Ribera del Duero.
It was produced from grapes coming from vineyards planted in slate and granite soils on the banks of the Sil river.
Harvest took place during the first half of September. The grapes were fully destemmed, refrigerated to keep their aromatic qualities intact, and macerated for 4 hours. After that, they were pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. This Spanish white wine was subsequently drawn-off, and then transferred back into the tanks, where it was kept for a short time. Finally, O Luar do Sil Godello 2019 was bottled.
Fresh and honest, this young white wine has a mineral profile which makes it quite appealing.
