Red Wine Ombra 2017
Red wine from Montsant, blend of Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 14 months in oak.
Availability: In stock
The tiny, family-owned La Cova dels Vins winery crafts this Spanish red wine from 15 to 40-year-old vines.
Located in the DO Montsant, at an altitude around 400 metres above sea level, they are planted in slate soils.
Both the harvest and the vinification process were carried out manually. Fermentation and maceration took place in stainless steel tanks.
Then this red wine from Montsant was aged for 14 months in 300-litre French oak barrels from Allier .
Aerate Ombra 2017 30 minutes before drinking.
The wine Ombra has a clean, intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.
This lively Crianza red wine shows a variety of sweet and spicy aromas and juicy red fruit over a mineral and earthy background.
Pleasant, gently warm and smooth. Fruit is very present, nuanced by some spicy and balsamic tips and an excellent acidity. Tannins are ripe, and the ending of this red wine from La Cova dels Vins is gentle and pleasant, leaving some creamy and mineral remembrances.
|Our personal opinion||
Excellent with hearty dishes, Ombra 2017 conveys the gentlest side of Montsant.
