Red Wine Orto 2017
Availability: In stock
Former chief oenologist of Bodegas Álvaro Palacios, Joan Asens decided to embark on his own wine business venture several years ago.
This Spanish red wine is produced from vineyards 20 to 100 years of age located near the town of El Masroig.
Farmed followed the principles of biodynamic agriculture, the grapes were harvested and vinified for 28 days at a controlled temperature.
After that, the wine was aged for 3 months in 4th year French oak barrels. Prior to its bottling, this red wine from Montsant was gently filtered.
Drink Orto 2017 until 2022.
The red wine Orto has a gleaming, medium-high, cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
At first, this red wine from Montsant suggests some clean notes of red berries, slowly evolving into notes of violets, with some dim undertones of spices, toast and balsam.
Agile and vibrant, this red wine by Orto Vins has some ripe tannins and an excellent, crisp acidity. There are some forest-like and underbrush notions, a note of blackberries, dim mineral undertones, and notes of flowers. Long fruity finish.
|Our personal opinion||
An excellent value from Montsant, Orto 2017 is a wine one just can't get enough of.
