With the aid of some friends, he founded Orto Vins, a terroir-oriented winery based in DO Montsant.
Produced from vineyards 20 to 100 years of age, Orto is an interesting Spanish red wine, made from blend of Grenache, Samsó (Carignan), Ull de Llebre (aka Tempranillo) and Picapoll Negre.
Farmed followed the principles of biodynamic agriculture, the grapes were picked by hand. Then they were fermented and macerated for 28 days at a controlled temperature.
After completing malolactic fermentation, Orto 2021 was aged for 6 months in 6 to 10-year-old French oak barrels.
Before bottling, this red wine from Montsant was gently filtered.

Nose | At first, this blend of Samsó, Grenache, Ull de Llebre and Picapoll Negre suggests some clean notes of red berries, slowly evolving into notes of violets, with some dim undertones of spices, toast and balsam. |
Palate | Agile and vibrant, this red wine of Orto Vins has some ripe tannins and an excellent, crisp acidity. There are some forest-like and underbrush notions, a note of blackberries, dim mineral undertones, and notes of flowers. Long fruity finish. |
