Red Wine Pago de los Capellanes Crianza 2017

This expressive Spanish red wine is made from 18 plots planted with grapevines 30 years on average. They are located in the town of Pedrosa del Duero, at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level. Soils are composed of clay and limestone.
Meticulously harvested, the grapes were selected on site. Once in the cellar, they were fermented with indigenous yeasts with daily pump-overs and punch-downs.
After a period of about a month, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was drawn off to complete malolactic fermentation.
Finally, this wine by Pago de los Capellanes was aged for 12 months in new and 2nd year French oak barrels.

The wine Pago de los Capellanes Crianza has a clean, bright, high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Showing a very good balance between fruit and oak, this Crianza red wine smells primarily of of black fruit, ripe berries and spices, nuanced by some hints of aromatic herbs, cocoa, liquorice, fine leather and toast.
Pleasant and smooth, this red wine from Ribera del Duero has a well-balanced acidity and some ripe, savoury tannins. Nice texture, with remembrances of dry earth, vanilla, blackcurrants, liquorice and clove. Long finish with suggestions of balsam and herbs.
