Red Wine Pago de los Capellanes Joven Roble 2019
Availability: In stock
Produced by Pago de Los Capellanes, Pago de Los Capellanes Joven Roble is made from a selection of the best grapes coming from 20 plots located in Pedrosa de Duero, at the heart of the DO Ribera del Duero.
This young Spanish red wine is entirely crafted from Tempranillo. After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were first destemmed and then cold-soaked in stainless steel tanks. Then they were fermented in those same tanks at a controlled temperature and with daily pump-overs.
After that, this red wine from Ribera del Duero underwent malolactic fermentation for over a period of 3 weeks. Then it was transferred into new, 300-litre French oak barrels and aged for 5 months.
Finally, Pago de los Capellanes Jove Roble 2019 was gently fined prior to its bottling.
Appearance | The red wine Pago de Los Capellanes Joven Roble shows a medium-high cherry coloured robe with a garnet rim. |

Nose | This single varietal Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero carries loads of succulent red fruit, a touch of jamy plums and some flowery touches. This wine by Pago de los Capellanes also suggests some sweet overtones of vanilla, toffee and spices. Truly a young Ribera! |
Palate | Gloriously young, the wine has a smooth entrance on the palate, showing a considerable body and notes of wild berries, creamy notes and some herbal hints. This red wine aged in oak from Ribera del Duero is lush and meaty, with ripe tannins and a good acidity. Clean and very well crafted. |
Our personal opinion | A great introduction to a region that produces some majestic red wines, Pago de Los Capellanes Joven Roble 2019 is lush and wonderfully drinkable. |
