Red Wine Palacios Remondo La Montesa 2017 Magnum
Availability: In stock
Crafted by Álvaro Palacios, one of the great Spanish winemakers of our time, Palacios Remondo La Montesa Magnum is produced in La Rioja.
The wine is made principally from Grenache, complemented by some Tempranillo, both coming from over 25-year-old vineyards located in the town of Alfaro. Located at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level, the vines are planted on limestone and ferrous-clay soils covered with pebble stones.
Produced by Bodegas Palacios Remondo, the grapes of this Spanish red wine were harvested by hand, brought to the cellar, destemmed and crushed.
Then they were fermented in stainless steel tanks with its lees, with period punch-downs and pump-overs performed for over a period of 23 days.
After that, malolactic fermentation took place in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year 85% French and 15% American oak barrels, where it was also aged for 12 months.
Finally, Palacios Remondo La Montesa Mágnum 2017 was clarified prior to its bottling.
Aerate this red wine from La Rioja 1 hour before drinking.
The red wine Palacios Remondo La Montesa Mágnum has a bright, clean, medium-high ruby-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
This nose of this Rioja Magnum is intense and profound. Discreet aromas of red berries, pomegranates and quince, along with notes of roses, carnations and sage. Some touches of wet earth, underbrush, oregano and camomile, underpinned by hints of spices and toast.
The wine La Montesa by Bodegas Palacios Remondo is savoury and velvety. Notes of cherries, grapefruit rind, spices and rosemary. Perfect acidity, ripe tannins and enticing, persistent finish.
