The village of Gratallops is in the very heart of beautiful Priorat. There, the wine Pam de Nas is produced from old vineyards planted in steep slate slopes located on the outskirts of that town.
Manually harvested and meticulously selected, the grapes were destemmed, macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 20 days. After that, this Crianza red wine underwent malolactic fermentation in 50% new and 50% used French oak barrels. Then the wine was aged in those same barrels for 12 months.
Finally, Pam de Nas 2016 spent a further 20 months in the bottle before its commercial release.
Produced only in remarkable vintages, this red wine from Priorat has a nice ageing potential.
Decant a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
The red wine Pam de Nas has a medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Complex, enticing notes of underbrush, ripe red and black fruit, cocoa powder and blue flowers, enlivened by deep, spellbinding mineral echoes and suggestions of spices, menthol and smoke, Priorat's trademark. The nose of this blend of Grenache & Carignan is ever-changing and seductive.
Earthy, deep and intriguingly fresh. Pure notions of fruit, liquorice, cocoa and Eastern spices, wrapped in delightful mineral remembrances. This wine of Trossos del Priorat has a remarkable acidity and long, superb finish -and despite all that, it is still in the making.
