Parés Baltà Mas Irene 2016

Probably the most interesting of all of the wines produced by the Parés Baltà winery are those belonging to the Microcuvées series. These are small-production wines that come from the best plots of the winery. The Spanish red wine Parés Baltà Mas Irene is one of them.
Crafted following biodynamic principles, this organic red wine is a blend of Merlot - grown in the "Cal Miret" estate, located at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level -, and Cabernet Franc - grown in the "La Torreta" estate, at 315 metres of altitude. - Both of them are located in the Penedès region.
Meticulously harvested and carefully selected, after a cold-soaking process each variety was separately vinified in stainless steel tanks.
Then Parés Baltà Mas Irene 2016 was aged for 13 months in new French oak barrels from Allier.
After its bottling, this red wine from Penedès spent a further months in the cellar prior to its release onto the market.
The organic Spanish red wine Parés Baltà Mas Irene has a bright, high cherry-coloured robe with bluish tinges.
Joyful and pure, this organic and biodynamic red wine smells of red berries, flowers, violets and herbs, with an halo of red pepper and a thin layer of spices and smokey remembrances. A truly elegant blend of Merlot and Cab. Franc.
Meaty and smooth, this wine from Parés Baltà fills the mouth with flavours of wild berries, sesame seeds, exotic spices and some hints of balsam. Well-structured, this Crianza red wine from Penedès has a great acidity, velvety tannins and a long finish full of fruity and forest-like notions.
