Red Wine Parvus Syrah 2019
Availability: In stock
Crafted by the Alta Alella winery, Parvus Syrah is a varietal Syrah wine made from certified organic vineyards located in the DO Alella, Catalonia's tiniest Designation of Origin. The region is not far from Barcelona, and in the past it supplied the city with wine.
The vines grow under a purely Mediterranean climate and are planted on terraces oriented to the southeast. Located at an altitude between 150 and 300 metres, the soils are composed of sand of granitic origin, locally known as sauló.
Carefully selected and destemmed, the whole vinification process of this Spanish red wine was carried out in stainless steel tanks. The alcoholic fermentation of this Crianza red wine took 20 days to complete, during which the solid cap of grape skins was pumped down several times to maximize the extraction of colour and aromatic compounds.
Finally, Parvus Syrah 2019 was transferred into French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for a period of 12 months.
Pair this organic red wine with meat recipes and cold cuts. Aerate before drinking.
The red wine Parvus Syrah has a clean, bright, high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
This interesting red wine from Alella has a clean and precise aromatic profile, with typical Syrah notes of cocoa and black pepper, alongside hints of vanilla, toast, aromatic herbs, spices and, finally, wonderful remembrances of blue flowers.
Medium-bodied and fresh, this red wine of Alta Alella also has a meaty, bolder side. Juicy black fruit, ripe tannins -still a bit untamed- and a tense acidity. Long finish that leaves remembrances of menthol, liquor-infused fruit and toasted bread.
