Red Wine Pedrabona 2019
Availability: In stock
The grapes were sorted from a single, 4-hectare vineyard with slate soils called "Lo Panso". Located on the outskirts of Bellmunt del Priorat, it is planted with low-yielding, organically farmed vines around 25 years of age.
Like the previous ones, the 2019 vintage of this Spanish red wine is a varietal Carignan. The grapes were hand-harvested and selected on site and in the cellar. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks, after which Pedrabona 2019 was aged for 14 months in a 2,000-litre Stockinger Austrian oak vat. The wine was not filtered or clarified before bottling.
Decant this Priorat red wine a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
The red wine Pedrabona has a clean, bright, nice garnet colour with a reddish rim.
Expressive and lively, this varietal Carignan shows the depth and focus which characterize the variety. The aromas of blueberries and bitter cocoa are underpinned by some spicy and balsamic notes, some toasted nuances and a seductive minerality.
Both juicy and sleek, this wine of Josep Grau Viticultor conveys aromas of black fruit, liquorice and violets, with a lively acidity and some smooth tannins. Long finish with some dim mineral overtones and intimations of flowers and roadside herbs.
|Our personal opinion||
Josep Grau brings a distinctively subtle twist to all of his wines, and he has done an excellent job with Pedrabona 2019. An honest, elegant expression of the Priorat terroir.
