Product Description

This elegant Spanish red wine wine is produced by the Castillo de Perelada winery.

It is made exclusively from the Finca Malaveïna vineyards, a scenic estate with red clayey soils that offers incomparable views of the eastern Pyrenees and the Mediterranean sea.

The composition of this single estate wine is 40% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% de Cabernet Franc, 9% Grenache and 8% Syrah.

Harvested by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes were cold-macerated before fermentation. Then this red wine from L'Empordà was drawn off and aged for 22 months in new French oak barrels from Allier.

Finally, it was aged for some months in the cellar before its release

This wine from L'Empordà will improve in the bottle for about 8-10 years.

The single estate red wine Finca Malaveïna has a clean, bright cherry colour with a purple rim.


Prominent notes or red and black fruit, sweet spices, vanilla, clove and cocoa. This red wine from L'Empordà also suggests remembrances of Mediterranean herbs, balsam, green bell peppers and dry earth.


Bold and palate-coating, but never overpowering. This estate red wine by Castillo Perelada has a crisp acidity, excellent balance and mild tannins. Menthol, wild berries, aromatic herbs and some earthy notions over a smokey-mineral background. Long, elegant finish.

Our personal opinion

As always, Perelada Finca Malaveïna 2016 shows plenty of class and depth. A serious wine in the best sense of the term.
