A varietal Tempranillo, Pesquera Reserva is a truly legendary Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero.
History has it that the Tinto Pesquera winery rose to international fame in 1982, when Robert Parker said that Pesquera was "Spain's Château Pétrus".
This renowned red wine from Ribera del Duero was produced from a careful selection of the best grapes coming from 200 hectares of estate-owned vineyards.
Manually picked and carefully destemmed, first they were fermented into stainless steel tanks. Lightly pressed, Pesquera Reserva 2018 was subsequently aged in American oak barrels for 14 months.
Finally, this reserva red wine spent a further 12 months in the bottle before its release.

Nose | Complex, intriguing nose, though a bit reduced at the beginning. After some aeration, this Tempranillo suggests aromas of black fruit -blackcurrants and blueberries- some mineral undertones and a repertoire of tertiary aromas coming from the ageing process: spices, coffee, tobacco and cocoa. |
Palate | Elegant, smooth entrance with an excellent balance between acidity and tannic structure. This wine from Tinto Pesquera of Alejandro Fernández is round and fruit-driven, quite succulent and rewardingly fresh, with a lingering aftertaste of blackcurrants, vanilla, clove and coffee beans. |
Our personal opinion | Despite its youth, this Pesquera Reserva 2018 already performs excellently. Pair with hearty dishes. |
