Details

This Petit Baldomà is the entry-level wine of the Vall de Baldomar winery, located in the Catalan province of Lleida, and belonging to the DO Costers del Segre.

This Spanish red wine is made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties grown in clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level.

The vinification of Petit Baldomà 2019 followed the usual methods, with prolonged skin maceration and subsequent fermentation at a controlled temperature.

After that, this red wine from Costers del Segre was aged for 2 months in 1st and 2nd year central European oak barrels.

Appearance

The red wine Petit Baldomà has an elegant cherry red colour with a ruby rim.

Nose

This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon suggests aromas of red ripe strawberries and spices, combined with a shy mineral note; the wooden notes pass almost unnoticed.

Palate

This young red wine from the Vall de Balmodar winery has great drinkability. Ripe fruit with subtle hints of pepper, with a warm feeling that ends with a cool mineral aftertaste; tasty tannins and a good acidity.

Our personal opinion

The wine Petit Baldomà 2019 is fresh, friendly and easy to drink.
