Made from grapes coming from three little plots: Sinia, Plana Gran and Avellaner, this Spanish red wine showcases the terroir characteristics of Massís del Garraf, a subzone within the DO Penedès.
Each plot was separately harvested and vinified. The grapes were fermented using indigenous yeasts with frequent punch-downs of the solid cap of grape skins to extract colour and aromas.
Then Petit Caus Negre 2019 was transferred into a bigger tank, where the blend was aged for some months, and finally bottled after a gentle filtration.
The red wine Petit Caus Negre has a nice cherry colour with a garnet rim.
Somewhat shy at the beginning, this organic red wine from Penedès soon exhibits some exuberant notes of wild berries, some spicy notions and dim mineral undertones.
Vivid and expressive, this young red wine of Can Ràfols dels Caus has a medium body and a lively passage. Clean notes of black fruit, black olives, undergrowth and balsam. Mild tannins, good acidity and a medium, crisp finish which cleanses the palate.

A light-hearted red wine with an unexpected mineral side, Petit Caus Negre 2019 from Penedès is perfect for laid-back gatherings with friends.
