A blend of Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo and Cabernet Franc, Petit Caus Negre is the entry-level red wine of Can Ràfols dels Caus.
Made from grapes coming from three little plots: Sinia, Plana Gran and Avellaner, this Spanish red wine showcases the terroir characteristics of Massís del Garraf, a subzone of DO Penedès.
Each plot was separately harvested and vinified. The grapes were fermented using indigenous yeasts with frequent punch-downs of the solid cap of grape skins to extract colour and aromas.
After that, Petit Caus Negre 2021 was transferred into a bigger tank, where the blend was aged for some months, and finally bottled after a gentle filtration.
This yummy organic red wine is great for a relaxed rendez-vous with friends.

Nose | Somewhat shy at the beginning, this blend of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Tempranillo soon exhibits some lively notes of wild berries, some spicy notions and dim mineral undertones. |
Palate | Vivid and expressive, this wine from Can Ràfols dels Caus is medium-bodied, with clean notes of black fruit, black olives, undergrowth and balsam. Mild tannins, good acidity and a medium, crisp finish which cleanses the palate. |
