Product Description
Details

This is the fourth vintage of this little-known, almost confidential Spanish red wine.

A blend of Grenache, Carignan and SyrahPlini de Laurona is produced from old vines planted in some privileged sites, in the very heart of the DO Montsant.

Incidentally, Celler Laurona is run by two outstanding oenologists: Fernando Zamora and René Barbier, creator of Clos Mogador.

After a manual harvest, followed by a careful selection of the grapes, Plini de Laurona 2013 was aged for 15 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.

This Montsant red wine has a very limited production.

Additional Information
Additional Information
Appearance

The wine Plini de Laurona has a medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Nose

Aromas of wild berries, such as redcurrants and blackberries, underpinned by some spicy and balsamic notions, a layer of Mediterranean garrigue, and hints of cocoa, violets and aromatic herbs. Let it breathe, because this blend of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah really sings after some time in the decanter.

Palate

Superbly crafted, this wine of Celler Laurona has a supple, smooth body and a confident elegance. Succulent fruit, bold tannins and an excellent acidity, features that promise a long life. Complex finish, with predominantly mineral and balsamic nuances.

Our personal opinion

The wine Plini de Laurona 2013 is an elegant Montsant that deserves to be better known by winelovers.
