Produced from vines 15 to 50 years old situated in DO Toro, Prima is the entry-level Spanish red wine of Bodegas Maurodos.
It is made principally from Tinta de Toro, complemented with a 15% Grenache. The grapes were separately vinified in different kinds of containers, according to the specificic characteristics of each plot.
Then this red wine from Toro was aged in French and American oak vats and barrels for 14 months.
After that, Prima 2020 was bottled and aged a further months before hitting the market.
Aerate this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.

Great buy. A bold wine, but very honest and well made.

Prime
The producers of this winery also craft San Román, which I find the best wine from Toro. I decided to go for the entry-level wine and was not disappointed. Not so big and muscular as the average Toro. Grenache enlivens the wine and makes it delicious.
